After a long weekend filled with good food, late nights and plain ol’ fun my kids had a hard time waking up for school on Tuesday morning. Much of the state of Massachusetts had no school on Monday in honor of of Veteran’s Day. The weekend turned out to be fantastic-the weather cooperated and so did the kids.
On Friday I took the day off to join my youngest son and the entire third grade on a field trip to Plimoth Plantation. The field trip included a visit to the Mayflower II, an English Village and the Wampanoag Native American Homesite. I didn’t lose any kids in my group, no one cried, no blood and no throw-up. All signs of a successful field trip.
The rest of the weekend we headed north of Boston and had a chance to hang outside and play with the camera.
It’s always funny until someone loses an eye.
The lake was glass with not a ripple on the water.
My oldest did a great job taking a few fabulous photos.
Even the dog had the best hike evah!
How did you spend Veteran’s Day?

Sounds like you had a great long weekend. Great pictures 🙂 – We also love to spend a lot of time outside with the family, but for Veterans Day I took the kids to an indoor playground

Great photos! On Saturday the weather was great and the kids played outside most of the day with a friend. We did not have Monday off, though I am not sure we would have been outside much, it was at least 20 degrees cooler than Saturday.
These pics are awesome. Love the Mayflower pic!!
Kiddos had school here. so we didn’t do anything special that day.
I took my 89-year-old mother, who lives in an assisted living facility, out to a restaurant for lunch. We had a beautiful weather day also. I enjoy your website and creative ideas as I also take care of my just-turned-three years old granddaughter three days a week.
Great pictures. We spent the weekend visiting family for my uncle’s memorial service, which was very appropriately held at a nature center. The kids got to take a great hike while the adults reminisced.

Hi Becky, quiet days at home are the best! Glad you had a nice time.
