Groovy Green Livin Gig and Update

Time for an update on the Groovy Green Livin front. From time to time I like to share with you what I’ve been up to- under one condition: that you do the same and share with me your latest and greatest!

Podcast with Amber Strocel

Two years ago at BlogHer in San Diego I had the pleasure of meeting Amber Strocel from Strocel.com. Amber recently interviewed me for her podcast series at Stocel.com. We talked about my Disney and Tide petitions and I think we could have gone on talking for hours. Click HERE if you’re interested in checking it out.

I’m a Better Life Brand Ambassador

I am honored and beyond excited to be a brand ambassador for Better Life cleaning products along with two of my green friends, Micaela from Mindful Momma and Kathy from Safemama.com. Better Life has come up with a line of non-toxic cleaning products that keep kids, pets and the planet safe. I will be sharing much more from this eco-friendly company so stay tuned! As a little teaser I’m going to share with you this Better Life video.

Petitions, petitions and more important petitions!

In addition to my Disney (58,565 signatures!) and Tide petitions (77, 703 signatures!) and Anna from Green Talk‘s arsenic in rice petition (2,228 signatures!) a few more important petitions came across my desk this week.

Hey Kellogg’s take the food dye out of fruit snacks

Lifestyle and wellness experts Erica Reid and Latham Thomas joined forces with Healthy Child Healthy World in a petition to the Kellogg Company on the risks of food dye in fruit snacks. This petition asks Kellogg’s to take the first step in removing artificial food dyes from Kellogg’s children’s fruit snacks. Artificial food dyes have been linked to cancer, hyperactivity and allergies, and do not belong in children’s fruit snacks.

Magazines, lose the poison perfume pages!

I’m a sucker for a good magazine, but every time I open the cover I’m bombarded with that overpowering scent of bad perfume. My friends Rachel from Mommy Greenest and Paige the author of the book Spit That Out! The Overly Informed Parent’s Guide to Raising Children in the Age of Environmental Guilt started a PETITION asking the CEOs of Condé Nast, Time Inc, Hearst Magazines and Fairchild Fashion Media to stop poisoning our air and ban fragrance samples from the magazines that they publish.

Please click HERE to sign this important petition.

That’s all folks! Have a groovy green weekend.

What’s your latest and greatest news? Any plans for the weekend?
