There’s a lot of green news to share on the Groovy Green front. Here are a few highlights to keep you entertained over the weekend.
Lawyers Weekly
Many of you know that I’m a recovering attorney. I practiced law for years and then jumped ship, but still manage to use my degree for many things in my own business dealings. A few months ago I was interviewed by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly, a weekly subscription newspaper. The interview was part of a new column in the paper called “Uncommon Law” which profiles lawyers who follow a non-traditional path. I was very excited when the article was published-and made it onto the front page! My intention when being interviewed was to encourage those who are practicing law to follow their dreams and not get stuck in a place that doesn’t bring you happiness and good health.
Unfortunately, I’m unable to share the article with you. Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly is a subscriber locked down site so I would have to purchase the reprint rights, which are cost prohibitive and I’m not willing to do so. So you’ll have to stare at the photo of the article and imagine what it says. Overall, the reporter did a nice job and I love that they’re open to sharing alternative career paths for lawyers.
Mom on a Mission Finalist
I’m incredibly honored that Healthy Child Healthy World named me a Mom on a Mission finalist for 2013, recognizing my work advocating on behalf of children and their families. I’m in good company. There are some pretty amazing women who have done some pretty incredible things on this list. Right now Healthy Child Healthy World is asking you to vote for the official Mom on a Mission. I have to admit that I don’t love voting contests-they remind me of high school popularity contests which just aren’t my thing. But if you’re so inclined to vote feel free to vote for me!
