Around this time tomorrow I’ll be walking down the red carpet in New York City, headed to the premiere of the movie EPIC. Two of my three boys will be joining me and I’m beyond excited.
Here’s the scoop.
It all began when Diane of Big Green Purse organized a blog carnival and posed the question “What does it take to get kids to save energy?” About 30 bloggers stepped forward to share their personal experiences and talked about Team ENERGY STAR, which makes saving energy fun for kids while giving parents free resources they can use to explain why energy efficiency needs to be a priority at home.
I joined in and wrote about why programs like Team ENERGY STAR make a difference.
I’m incredibly honored to have been selected by the Environmental Protection Agency to attend the red carpet premiere of EPIC in New York City tomorrow along with my two handsome dates (I’m a little biased), son 1 and son 2. More good news-not only will I be mingling with the stars of the movie, but I’m also going to see some of my favorite bloggers at the event. More to come on that.
The premiere is being shown in the Ziegfeld Theater and we will also have an opportunity to meet with some of the stars to ask questions. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for some great photo ops so I can share the experience with you.
Couch Detective
Before I sign off to pack I also wanted to share my post over at Mom’s Clean Air Force, Couch Detective: My Hunt For A Chemical-Free Couch. If you’re wondering where to buy a chemical free couch I spent some time looking into a few brands that have made a good faith effort to eliminate toxic chemicals. Hop on over to check out what I found.
I’ll hopefully have an opportunity to ask the celebrities a few questions about climate change, the environment and conserving energy. What would you ask?
Enjoy the weekend. I’ll be back as soon as I can with photos and stories from the premiere!
