Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. I’m all for staying local, hanging with neighbors and indulging a bit. This year I had a few extra days home with my kids thanks to Hurricane Sandy so we spent time creating and recreating Halloween costumes and decorations.
While much of the East Coast is still reeling from the effects of Hurricane Sandy I enter into the celebration of Halloween without the usual oomph, thinking of all those who are still without power and with other loss. My heart goes out to you.
I’m always asked for healthy Halloween treat suggestions so on this not so Wordless Wednesday I thought I would share with you how we make our Halloween a wee bit green with photos of the treats we are handing out tonight at our house. We do hand out regular unhealthy candy too-I never claimed to be perfectly green.
Have you seen UNREAL candy? It’s hard to miss since the company makes their candy available only where junk food is available. It’s candy without artificial flavors, preservatives or hormones; no GMO’s (genetically modified organisms); no hydrogenated oils; and no corn syrup.
We will also be handing out Pretzel Crisps.
.
And our favorite treat which could hands down make us the life of the party …. Halloween orange and black toothbrushes and Stop Zombie Mouth trading cards. You want some, I know you do!
Wishing a happy and safe Halloween to all.
What will you be handing out in your hood?

Thank you to Pretzel Crisps and Unreal for the fantastic samples to spread around my neighborhood.
