As heat waves are occurring across the U.S. right now, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s WaterSense program put together an Infographic on how to save water at home. As we all know, outdoor water use spikes in the hot weather–this infographic illustrates that during the summer, a family can use up to 3,000 gallons of fresh water per day.
In an effort to curb over-watering and protect the future of the nation’s water supply, there are also a few useful tips to prevent wasting thousands of gallons of water in your yard and garden.

Good tips! We love our rain barrel which saves water and money when we water the garden with that free resources. Also, choosing native, drought-resistant plants in your yard helps reduce the need for watering.
