Happy Friday everyone! This has been an interesting week-bouncing from fleece to shorts and back again. Before jumping into the weekend I wanted to share a few quick things with you.
With only 10 days to go until Halloween, I wish I could tell you that our costumes are set and we are ready to go. We are not. We still have two undecided. The good news is they are willing to dig through our overflowing costume bin and recycle something from years past.
This week I shared a post over at the J.R. Watkins Clear Conscience Blog on How to Go Green This Halloween. Do you have a cool reusable bag for collecting candy? We might go the pillow case route this year.
I am also honored to have been selected as a Parent Ambassador for Healthy Child Healthy World. If you’ve been reading this blog for a bit you are well aware of my commitment to this incredible organization and the wonderful people that work over there.
For You
If you have a few extra minutes over the weekend here are a few groovy green reads for you:
- Marion Nestle over at Food Politics gives us the low down on the current state of front-of-package labeling. I’m curious to hear your thoughts.
- Have you been reading about pinkwashing? Susan G. Komen has commissioned a perfume called “Promise Me” and it contains cancer causing ingredients. Whaat?? Lisa over at Retro Housewife Goes Green gives a great synopsis of the bigger problem of pinkwashing.
What’s on tap for the weekend? Hope it’s fantastic!
