I looked outside my window this morning and the magnolia tree is in full bloom. My son’s seasonal allergies are also in full bloom. We are usually armed and ready for seasonal allergies the first week of May-not the third week in March. The ticks and mosquitoes are also confused –bug bites and nightly tick checks are happening too early in the season.
The warm, sunny weather is a welcome change. Windows are open and people are out and about. The blogosphere has lots to offer this spring. Here are a few of the highlights from this week.
Spring into Spring
Every spring I start reorganizing and donating like a crazy person. The urge to spring clean can’t be contained. We can’t help ourselves—it’s innate. We rearrange furniture, sort through old clothing and organize our belongings. Does this happen to you (please say yes so I’ll feel normal)? Over at the J.R. Watkins Naturals Clear Conscience Blog I shared a few things you can do to kick off those sunny spring days that lie ahead.
Cell Phone Radiation
My kids grab my phone constantly. They usually aren’t calling anyone, but they are playing games and, in my humble opinion, holding the phone a little too close to their little bodies. A recent study found that a child’s growing body can absorb up to 10 times the radiation an adult’s body absorbs. That’s frightening. This article suggests a few ways to avoid wireless radiation.
Do you try to limit your exposure and your children’s exposure to radiation?

Pin of the week
With my gardening adventures soon to kick into overdrive, I can’t get enough info on making my garden work. This pin shares great info on attracting a few good bugs for my garden.
Eco-fashion Friday
Agree or disagree: the vintage “Superman” cuff is SO eco cool.
Have a groovy green weekend! Are you starting your garden?

We haven’t started doing any gardening yet but we will be working on building some smaller raised beds around our larger raised bed this weekend.
Have a great weekend!
We will do all the “spring cleaning” once we are moved back home at the end of May! Little E tries to get our phones and my iPad all the time. You should hear the lungs on that girl when I take them away. I am sure dogs understand her! lol Happy Sunday! 🙂
I didn’t realize you are moving back home so soon Stephanie! Yes, lots of spring cleaning to do once you get there. My kids take my phone, and any other electronic device they can get there hands on, whenever they can! Watch out as little E gets older 🙂
I’ll admit I’m behind in starting my garden. I grow on my enclosed balcony, so it warms up in there pretty fast on sunny days during the springtime, and it’s a real sauna over the summer! I could have started planting a while ago, but life has been too busy to allow it.
Meanwhile, every day when I’m walking I see more and more flowers and trees in bloom, and it makes my heart sing!
